Nerve Stimulation Wire Placed Through The Skin

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 64555

A thin electrode wire is placed through the skin next to a nerve outside the spinal cord, so mild electrical pulses can interrupt pain signals traveling along that nerve. It may be placed as a temporary trial to see whether stimulation helps, or as the lead for a longer-term implanted system. No open incision is needed to position the wire.
