Continuous Abdominal Wall Nerve Block, One Side

Arkansas rates for HCPCS 64487

Numbs the nerves supplying the abdominal wall on one side by placing a fine catheter into the layer between the abdominal muscles and running local anesthetic through it continuously. Ultrasound is used to guide the needle into place when needed. Because it keeps working over time rather than wearing off after a single injection, it is used for ongoing pain relief after abdominal surgery or injury.
