Opens the pocket under the skin where the battery unit of a spinal cord stimulator sits, in order to reposition it, repair its connections, or take it out altogether. It is done when the unit has shifted, become uncomfortable or infected, stopped working, or is no longer wanted. Work on the electrodes running along the spine is charged separately.
