Removal of a Flat Spinal Stimulator Lead

Vermont rates for HCPCS 63662

Surgery to take out the flat, paddle-shaped stimulating lead of a spinal cord stimulator. Because the paddle lies against the covering of the spinal cord, a small window is made in the bone at the back of the spine to reach and free it. It is done when the device is no longer wanted, is infected, or is being taken out entirely.
