Removal of a Spinal Tumor, Mid-Back

Vermont rates for HCPCS 63281

Removes a tumor that lies inside the covering of the spinal canal but outside the spinal cord itself, in the mid-back. Bone at the back of the spine is taken off so the covering can be opened and the tumor lifted away from the cord and nerve roots, and the covering is then sealed. Relieving the pressure protects strength, feeling, and bladder function.
