Nerve Decompression During Lower-Back Fusion

Vermont rates for HCPCS 63052

Bone and thickened tissue are trimmed away from around the nerves of the lower back to relieve pressure on them, during an operation that also fuses the spine from behind. It frees the nerve roots that cause leg pain, numbness, and weakness. It is billed in addition to the main fusion procedure and covers one segment of the spine; each further segment treated is billed separately.
