Reprogramming Of A Programmable Brain Fluid Shunt

Delaware rates for HCPCS 62252

This is a noninvasive office procedure that adjusts the settings of an implanted shunt used to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid from the brain, most often in people with hydrocephalus. Using a special magnetic device held against the scalp, the clinician changes the valve's drainage setting without any incision. It is done to fine-tune how much fluid drains as a patient's needs change.
