Replacing or Flushing a Brain Drainage Tube

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 62194

Deals with a drainage catheter sitting in the fluid space around the brain that has stopped working. The surgeon either flushes the tube to clear the blockage or takes it out and puts a new one in the same position, so fluid can drain freely again. It is done when the symptoms of rising pressure come back.
