Uses a small camera passed into the fluid-filled spaces inside the brain to guide placement of a drainage tube and its connection to a shunt or an external drain. Seeing directly inside lets the surgeon put the tube exactly where fluid needs to be drawn from and avoid it becoming blocked. It is billed in addition to the main operation.
