Placement Of Brain Surface Stimulator Electrodes

Maryland rates for HCPCS 61850

A small hole is made in the skull so electrodes for a nerve-stimulation device can be placed on the surface of the brain. The electrodes are connected to a generator that delivers mild electrical pulses intended to control seizures or other symptoms. It is done through a limited scalp incision rather than by opening a large section of skull.
