Clipping Of A Difficult Brain Aneurysm At The Front

Vermont rates for HCPCS 61697

Opens the skull to reach a balloon-like bulge on an artery of the brain's front circulation, the part fed by the carotid arteries, and closes the bulge off with a small metal clip so blood no longer enters it. Securing it prevents a first or a further bleed around the brain. This applies to aneurysms that are unusually demanding to treat, such as very large ones, those with hardened walls, or those needing blood flow to be paused while they are secured.
