Balloon Widening of an Artery Inside the Head

Vermont rates for HCPCS 61630

A thin catheter is threaded up through the blood vessels into the head, and a small balloon is inflated inside a narrowed artery to open it up. Widening the vessel restores blood flow to brain tissue that is being starved of it. Nothing is cut open; the catheter enters through a vessel in the groin or the wrist.
