Growth Removal at the Central Skull Base

Vermont rates for HCPCS 61608

Removal of a tumor, an abnormal tangle of blood vessels, or an area of infection from the central part of the skull base, the region around the pituitary gland and the bony slope at the middle of the skull floor. Major arteries and the nerves that move the eyes run through this area, so the work is done under a microscope. This covers taking out the lesion itself, not the work of opening a path down to it.
