Skull Base Exposure Through Cheekbone And Eye Socket

Vermont rates for HCPCS 61592

Covers the surgical exposure needed to reach the middle part of the skull base, created by cutting and temporarily moving the cheekbone and the bony rim around the eye socket, opening the skull, and gently lifting the temporal lobe of the brain. This opens a working channel down to deep structures such as the large arteries at the base of the skull. Treating the tumor or other problem found there is billed separately.
