Removal Of A Blood Clot In The Cerebellum

Vermont rates for HCPCS 61315

Opens the back of the skull to remove a collection of blood that has formed within the cerebellum, the part of the brain at the lower back of the head that controls balance and coordination. Taking the clot out relieves dangerous pressure on the brainstem just below it. It is an urgent operation, usually after a bleed or a head injury.
