Repeat Neck Surgery For Parathyroid Glands

Vermont rates for HCPCS 60502

Reopens the neck to search for and remove overactive parathyroid tissue after an earlier parathyroid operation failed to solve the problem. Scarring from the first surgery makes the glands harder to find, so the exploration is slower and more delicate. The parathyroids are four tiny glands behind the thyroid that control the body's calcium level.
