Repeat Thyroid Surgery for Remaining Tissue

Vermont rates for HCPCS 60260

Removes thyroid tissue that was left behind at an earlier thyroid operation. Because the surgeon has to work through scar tissue from the first surgery, and the nerves to the voice box and the tiny parathyroid glands are harder to find, it is a more demanding operation than a first-time thyroid removal. It may involve one or both sides of the neck.
