Ovarian Cancer Surgery With Uterus and Node Removal

Vermont rates for HCPCS 58951

Surgery for a cancer of the ovary, fallopian tube, or the lining of the abdomen, removing both ovaries and tubes along with the omentum, the fatty apron that hangs over the intestines. This version also takes out the uterus and cervix and removes lymph nodes from the pelvis and alongside the large blood vessels at the back of the abdomen. It is usually the first operation done, both to treat the cancer and to find out how far it has spread.
