A thin lighted scope is passed through the cervix into the uterus and the scar-tissue bands sticking the inner walls together are cut and cleared, opening the cavity back up. No incision is made — everything is done through the natural passage. It is used for scarring that follows a uterine procedure, a retained pregnancy, or an infection, and that causes light or absent periods, pain, or trouble conceiving.
