Removes the body of the uterus through small abdominal incisions using a camera and long instruments, leaving the cervix in place, and also removes one or both fallopian tubes and ovaries in the same operation. It is used for a uterus that is not greatly enlarged. Most people go home within a day or two and recover faster than after open surgery.
