Cervical Conization With An Electrical Loop

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 57522

Removes a cone-shaped piece of the cervix using a thin wire loop carrying an electric current, which cuts and seals at the same time. It is done to take out abnormal cells found on a smear or colposcopy, and the tissue is examined in the laboratory afterwards. The loop technique is an alternative to cutting the cone out with a scalpel.
