Cone Biopsy Of The Cervix

Vermont rates for HCPCS 57520

Removes a cone-shaped piece of the cervix containing abnormal cells, using a scalpel or a laser. Taking it out in one piece lets the laboratory see how deep the abnormality goes, so the procedure both diagnoses and treats the problem. Scraping of the cervical canal or stitching of the cervix may be done at the same time, and the laboratory examination is charged separately.
