Freezing Treatment of the Cervix

This treatment applies extreme cold to the surface of the cervix to destroy abnormal tissue, most often cells found on a screening test that could progress to cervical cancer if left untreated. A probe delivers the freezing effect directly to the treatment area during a brief in-office procedure. The treated tissue sloughs off over the following weeks as healthy tissue regrows in its place.
