Placing Radiation Applicators In Pelvic Organs

Vermont rates for HCPCS 55920

Hollow needles or thin catheters are placed into a pelvic organ or the genital tissue so that radioactive sources can be delivered through them afterwards. Positioning is done under imaging or direct view so the applicators sit accurately around the target. The radiation treatment itself is given separately once the applicators are in place.
