Removal Of A Testicle For Cancer

Vermont rates for HCPCS 54530

Removes a testicle together with its cord through an incision in the groin rather than through the scrotum, so that the blood and lymph vessels can be sealed before the testicle is handled. It is the standard first treatment when a lump in the testicle is likely to be cancer, and it both takes out the tumor and provides the tissue that confirms the diagnosis. Laboratory examination of the removed tissue is charged separately.
