Takes out a one-piece or semi-rigid penile implant and puts a new one in during the same operation. The old device is freed from the surrounding tissue, the space is prepared, and the replacement is sized and positioned. It is done when the original implant has failed mechanically, no longer fits, or is no longer working well.
