Widening the Opening of the Urethra

Vermont rates for HCPCS 53450

Enlarges a narrowed opening at the tip of the urethra, where urine leaves the body, and rebuilds it by bringing the inner lining forward and stitching it to the skin edge so the new opening stays open. It is done when the opening has scarred down, causing a thin, sprayed, or straining urinary stream. The work is confined to the very end of the urinary passage.
