Scope Treatment Where The Ureter Meets The Kidney

New Jersey rates for HCPCS 52345

A fine scope is passed through the urethra and bladder and up the ureter to the point where it joins the kidney, to treat a narrowing there. The narrowed segment is opened using a balloon, a cutting instrument or a laser so urine drains freely from the kidney again. A stent is usually left in place for a while afterwards.
