Bladder And Urethra Rebuild With Ureter Reattachment

Washington rates for HCPCS 51820

Reconstructs the bladder and its outlet into the urethra, and reattaches one or both ureters — the tubes bringing urine down from the kidneys — into the rebuilt bladder wall. It is done when the bladder outlet and the ureter connections have both been damaged or are not working, so that urine can be stored and passed normally again. It is major surgery under general anesthesia, with a catheter in place for a period afterward.
