Bladder Contrast Injection for Imaging

Hawaii rates for HCPCS 51600

A thin catheter is used to inject contrast dye into the bladder so its shape and function can be seen clearly on X-ray images. This is typically done just before a cystogram or voiding study, which checks for problems like abnormal bladder shape, reflux of urine toward the kidneys, or leaks. The injection itself is the preparation step for that imaging exam.
