Bladder Removal With A New Urine Channel From Bowel

Connecticut rates for HCPCS 51590

Removes the whole bladder and builds a new route for urine using a length of the patient's own intestine, with the ureters joined into it so urine can leave the body. The bowel is then reconnected so digestion continues as normal. It is most often done for bladder cancer that has grown into the muscle of the bladder wall.
