Ureter Scope Through Existing Opening, With Catheter

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50953

A scope is passed through an opening that already drains a ureter — the tube carrying urine from kidney to bladder — out to the skin, letting the inside of that tube be inspected. A fine tube is then guided along the ureter, which may be gently stretched open in the process. No new surgical opening is made.
