Continent Urine Reservoir Built From Intestine

Massachusetts rates for HCPCS 50825

Builds an internal reservoir for urine out of a segment of the patient's own small and/or large intestine and connects the tubes from the kidneys into it. Depending on the design, the reservoir is joined to the urethra so urine is passed in the usual way, or brought to a small opening on the abdomen that is emptied several times a day with a thin tube. Either way urine is held inside the body and no external bag is worn, and the bowel is rejoined during the same operation.
