Urinary Diversion Using a Piece of Intestine

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 50820

A short segment of small intestine is taken out of the digestive path and used as a channel that carries urine from the kidney tubes to an opening on the abdominal wall. The remaining intestine is joined back together so digestion continues as normal. Urine then drains steadily into a pouch worn against the skin.
