Urine Diversion Into Colon Conduit

Pennsylvania rates for HCPCS 50815

Surgery that reroutes urine away from the bladder by attaching the ureters, the tubes that drain the kidneys, into a segment of large intestine that is set aside to act as a channel. The remaining bowel is rejoined so the digestive tract still works, and the channel carries urine out through an opening on the abdomen. It is done when the bladder has been removed or can no longer store urine safely.
