Surgical Reattachment of Ureter to Bladder

Iowa rates for HCPCS 50780

Detaches the ureter — the tube that carries urine from the kidney down to the bladder — and sews it into a new opening in the bladder wall. It is done when the lower end of the tube is blocked, narrowed by scarring, injured, or lets urine wash backward toward the kidney. The new connection is made so urine drains freely in one direction.
