Joining The Ureter Directly Into The Kidney

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 50750

Connects the ureter — the tube draining urine from a kidney — directly into one of the kidney's inner collecting chambers, bypassing the usual outlet. It is used when the normal junction is so scarred or damaged that it cannot be rebuilt, often after previous surgery or long-standing obstruction. It is open surgery under general anesthesia, with a temporary internal tube left across the join while it heals.
