Joining The Ureter To The Kidney Basin

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50740

Reconnects the ureter — the tube that drains urine away from a kidney — to the collecting basin of the kidney itself, so urine flows out freely again. It is done when the junction between the two is blocked, scarred, or damaged and needs to be rebuilt. It is open surgery under general anesthesia, and a temporary internal tube is usually left across the repair while it heals.
