Keyhole Kidney Removal From a Living Donor

Maryland rates for HCPCS 50547

Removal of a healthy kidney from a living donor through small incisions using a camera and long instruments, so it can be transplanted into someone else. Once out, the kidney is flushed and chilled to preserve it until it is implanted, and that preservation is part of the procedure. The donor keeps one kidney, which takes over the full workload.
