Upgrading a Kidney Drain to a Kidney-to-Bladder Tube

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50434

Replaces an existing kidney drainage tube with a longer one that runs from the kidney, down the ureter, and into the bladder. It is done through the tract the first tube already made in the skin of the back, so no new puncture into the kidney is needed. Imaging and contrast dye are used to confirm the tube sits in the right place.
