Contrast dye is injected into the urine-collecting system of the kidney through the skin, and X-ray pictures follow it down the ureter toward the bladder. The images show where flow is blocked, narrowed, or leaking. This version includes creating the new needle track into the kidney along with the imaging guidance used to place it.
