Needle Drainage or Injection of a Kidney Cyst

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50390

Passes a needle through the skin of the back or flank into a fluid-filled cyst in the kidney, or into the kidney's collecting chamber, to draw fluid off or to put fluid in. Imaging guides the needle to the target. Draining a large cyst relieves the ache or pressure it has been causing, and the fluid removed can be examined.
