Exchange of a Kidney Drainage Tube Through the Skin

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50387

Removes an existing drainage tube that runs from the kidney down the ureter and is accessible at the skin, and replaces it with a new one. It is done with X-ray guidance so the replacement can be threaded along the same track and its position confirmed. Tubes are changed on a schedule to stop them clogging or becoming a source of infection.
