Exchange Of A Stent Inside The Ureter

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50385

Removes a stent sitting inside the ureter, the tube carrying urine from kidney to bladder, and puts a fresh one in its place. The old stent is caught with a small snare and drawn out, and the new one is positioned under imaging guidance. Stents are exchanged on a schedule because they crust and block over time.
