Exchange of a Kidney-to-Bladder Stent

Vermont rates for HCPCS 50382

An indwelling stent running from the kidney down to the bladder is snared, pulled out, and replaced with a new one, working through a small track in the skin over the kidney under X-ray guidance. These stents keep urine draining past a blockage and have to be swapped periodically before they crust over. The imaging supervision and interpretation are part of the service.
