Keyhole Repair of a Returning Groin Hernia

Missouri rates for HCPCS 49651

Repairs an inguinal, or groin, hernia that has come back after an earlier repair, working with a camera on a thin tube and instruments passed through several small cuts in the abdominal wall. The bulging tissue is pushed back and the weak area is reinforced, usually with a mesh patch. Approaching from the inside lets the surgeon avoid scar tissue left by the first operation.
