Removal Of An Abdominal Fluid Shunt

Takes out a shunt, a thin tube that was placed under the skin to carry fluid from the abdominal cavity into a vein. The tube is freed at both ends, removed, and the small incisions are closed. It is done when the shunt is blocked, infected, or no longer needed.
