Implanted Abdominal Catheter With Under-Skin Port

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 49419

Places a catheter into the abdominal cavity and tunnels it under the skin to a small port implanted beneath the surface, giving long-term access to that space. Fluid can then be drained, or medication such as chemotherapy delivered into the abdomen, by passing a needle through the skin into the port. Because the whole system sits under the skin, no tube is left protruding from the body.
