Image-Guided Drainage of a Collection in an Organ

Nebraska rates for HCPCS 49405

A drainage tube is placed through the skin into a collection of pus, blood, or other fluid inside an organ such as the liver, kidney, spleen, or lung. Ultrasound or a scan guides the needle and tube into the right spot. The tube is normally left in for a period so the collection can drain away.
