Pancreas Transplant

Oregon rates for HCPCS 48554

Implants a donor pancreas into a recipient, connecting the new organ's blood vessels and its digestive drainage so it can produce insulin. It is done for people whose own pancreas no longer makes insulin, sometimes at the same operation as a kidney transplant. The recipient's own pancreas is usually left where it is.
